Grand gestures are great, but the little things add up. I think in the end you’re recognized and remembered more by the little things you did as a friend, partner, or neighbor than the one or two grand gestures you might have made.
Being a good friend, a good partner, and a good neighbor isn’t hard when you’ve got good intentions at heart. Send a card, pick up the phone and make a call, order dinner. Those kind, caring, and genuine little things, that you should do without even thinking, really add up.
In a whole different way, the little things in life are what make it so great! Wind on your skin on a sunny car ride, green grass under bare feet, inside jokes, happy tears… just life’s tiny details that add up to the wholeness of our lives. My favorite little things are hand written notes, sharing secrets over coffee, and Bon Iver played very loud when my flights take off.
It’s all about the little things.
