We made it! It’s definitely that time of year. Days are slowly but surely getting longer. Spring is in the air, but it also might snow in two days. Allergies and colds have everyyyone out-of-office.
There’s no better time for a little self love than this weekend! Whether you’ve been sick, working long hours, or just need a little ‘you’ time, I’ve thought up some simple ways to detox from the stress of everyday life and just chill and love on yourself.
Sleep It Off
If a little extra sleep is what your mind and body needs, catch up on your ZZzzzs this weekend by heading to bed early, rather than sleeping in. Don’t forget we’re short an hour of sleep on the 12th. Holla daylight saving’s time!! So skip glass of vino #2 and head to bed EXTRA early. Put your phone out of reach and cozy up with a book, you’ll be out before you know it.
Keep It Up
You ate healthy and hit the gym all week? That’s great! Carry your momentum into the weekend rather than giving in to the temptation of weekend treats and laziness. Go for a long walk and make a smoothie, or cook dinner with your roommates rather than eating out.
Organize Your Life
Okay, maybe not your whole life, but how about just one small part of it? I know you have a purse full of receipts and granola bar wrappers. I bet your make-up brushes could use a good cleaning. and let’s be real, when was the last time you washed your sheets? Three easy items to check off this weekend that will have you feelin’ like a star come Monday morning.
Think Things Through
During the week it can be really hard to slow down your mind and just THINK. Is there a project you’ve wanted to get started on? An idea you want to brainstorm? Or a trip you’ve been wanting to plan? Brew a cup of coffee, find a seat in the sunshine, and put your ideas and thoughts down on paper. Yes, paper. The physical act of pen to paper is so therapeutic. Keep those thoughts with you through out the week and weekend, checking in on them when you need some inspiration.
Make Plans With Yourself
When was the last time you penciled yourself into your own schedule? Often times if we don’t actually set aside time for ourselves, other people’s plans take priority. If you’ve been wanting to go to a museum, a new coffee shop, or out for sushi, just go! It’s not selfish to do things that you want to do, when you want to do it! If you aren’t thrilled about the concert your roommate is dragging you to, or would rather not splurge on pricy drinks out and about, just be honest and say you need some ‘you’ time. No shame in that and your friends will understand!
Hope you have the best weekend ever, while keeping yourself and your needs in mind! It’s been a long winter, you earned it!
